Color Drenched Spaces
It’s in. Painted trim to match those moody walls is still hot, and I’m not ready to break up. If you feel like that’s too far of a stretch for you, try it in a small space like a powder bath.
Now, which color should you pick? Look around your home, and I bet you’ll find clues. Go for a darker shade that already exists in your space. Don’t skip painting the trim, and for an even bolder move, paint the ceiling, too!
Time That’s Not White
You’re thinking about adding more personality with a more sustainable approach instead? Well, here’s what I would say to you: paint your trim!
Sorry, this feels a little like cheating with one answer for both approaches, but here’s the deal. Ever noticed the drawing room in your favorite period drama? The trim is painted to match the walls.
If it’s really more about not liking the contrast of a light space to a dark space, I got you. Again, your home is already telling you what it needs. Choose a lighter color you already love and have. It’s safe! You know what it looks and feels like. This is still a high-impact color application because painting the trim, walls, and ceilings is multiplying the color.
A couple small fixes beyond spacing: changed the comma after “here’s the deal” to a colon (reads cleaner before “paint your trim!”), and hyphenated “high-impact” since it’s modifying “color application.”
Too Many Sconces? Never
Everyone always talks about how many pillows are too many. The real question is how many lamps are too many?
Everyone needs a lamp or wall sconce in every room. You’ll end up in the design emergency room without them. Does your home feel like it’s missing something? It’s missing a lamp, Becky.
Without fail, all of our clients want a welcoming space. Did I mention everyone needs a wall sconce? This is a hill I’m willing to die on, y’all.
